UKACA welfare is a welfare arm of UKACA Association (United Kenyans in Australia Cultural Association). A welfare member must first be an UKCA association member.

Membership is open to Kenyans living in Australia only upon payment of $150 to which $50 is administrative fee and $100 is credit to your welfare account reserved for occurring emergency.

All members are required to make $100 top up (contribution) anytime an occurrence of bereavement to a member(s) and or member(s) beneficiary(s) and that membership carries all the benefits as outlined in the group’s constitution. The contribution must be made within 30 calendar days of notification.

The validity and eligibility of a welfare payment to me in event of a bereavement is balance of not more than $100 debt as of the day the bereavement occurs.

Welfare members with $200 debt or more are not eligible for welfare payout. They will be sent two reminders by the treasurer/committee member and allowed a grace period of 30 days to clear the balance (They’d still be ineligible for a payout within the grace period). If by the end of 30 days they have not cleared the balance, disqualification of membership as outlined in the organization’s constitution to which all members subscribe to upon registration will be affected.

Three (3) months cooling off period is applied to all new members joining. In that period, they will not contribute to bereavement or be eligible for payout. Old member rejoining after termination must clear old balances and serve the 3 months cooling off period.

In the unlikely event of UKACA Welfare member demise, the UKACA welfare payout would ONLY be made to the nominated parents or nominated Next of Kin if parents are not available.

Stepparents and guardians are only eligible beneficiaries if the parenthood/guardianship occurred/started before a member turned 17 years old. Satisfactory evidence of same must be provided.

In polygamy cases: only the actual parents (mum & dad) will be eligible.

Only immediate siblings from the same mother will be covered.

I have read, understood, and will abide by the above terms and conditions of joining and maintaining eligibility in UKACA.
